News Platform & Publishing Management System
ABC News 24/7 is a digital news platform created to publish public news content across multiple sections while supporting internal editorial control, structured content organization, and continuous publishing operations.
ABC News 24/7 was developed as a custom news platform that combines a public-facing news website with a structured internal publishing management system. The platform was built to improve editorial efficiency through dedicated admin pages, permission-based access, media handling, section-based publishing, and organized workflows for articles, authors, categories, and advertising content.
The platform required much more than a basic article-posting interface. It needed a structured publishing environment capable of handling multiple news sections, user permissions, media uploads, embedded social content, advertising materials, author and category management, and controlled editorial publishing through a role-based system. A particularly important challenge was reducing manual classification effort during publishing. Editors needed a practical way to place content in the correct section without relying only on manual selection, especially in a fast-moving news environment with multiple categories and continuous publishing activity.
A custom ASP.NET-based publishing platform was developed with a public-facing news site and an internal ACP environment. The system enabled editors and authorized users to manage articles, upload images and videos, assign authors, control categories, manage advertising-related content, and publish material through a structured editorial workflow. One of the system’s distinguishing features was its intelligent classification logic. Instead of relying only on manual section selection, the platform can analyze the article title and content, evaluate the nature of the material, and determine the most appropriate publishing section automatically. This allowed the system to support faster and more consistent section assignment while still operating within a controlled editorial environment. The result was not just a news website, but a structured publishing platform with operational depth, combining public content delivery with internal editorial administration, media handling, permission-based control, and intelligent publishing support.
What makes this project especially strong is that it is not just a news website. It is a structured publishing system with real operational depth. It combines public news delivery with internal editorial control, section-based administration, media and advertising management, social media integration, and intelligent section classification in one connected environment.
Supports structured article creation, editing, updating, and publication across multiple news sections.
Provides permission-based administration with controlled access for editors and authorized users.
Manages images, videos, embedded social content, and advertising-related publishing materials.
Analyzes article title and content to identify the most appropriate publishing section automatically.
The platform improved publishing organization, gave editors stronger control over content workflows, reduced friction across multiple sections, supported richer media-driven publishing, and created a more scalable foundation for day-to-day editorial operations. The intelligent classification feature also helped reduce manual categorization effort and improved publishing consistency across the platform.
